Waiver Wire Angle - Week 7

We break down the Week 7 consensus top adds, FAAB recommendations, premium stashes, players to avoid chasing, and the best quarterback options for both 1-QB and Superflex leagues.

Waiver Wire Angle - Week 7

Week 7 is here, and this waiver wire is a little more interesting than the previous installment. Buffalo, Jacksonville, the Chargers, and Washington are all on bye, which means we are losing access to Josh Allen, James Cook, DJ Moore, Parker Washington, Bhayshul Tuten, Justin Herbert, Jayden Daniels and several other weekly starters simultaneously.

Several major stories developed after Sunday. Davante Adams is expected to miss 6-to-10 weeks with a significant hamstring injury, Romeo Doubs was placed on injured reserve, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt was placed on IR with his groin injury.

For this week’s Waiver Wire Angle, I went through several analyst breakdowns to build a consensus Top 10, while also weighing the newest injury news, Week 7 matchups and the underlying usage. As always, we aren’t simply chasing whoever scored touchdowns Sunday. We want targets, routes, carries, snap counts, and roles that have a realistic chance of sticking.

Ownership percentages are approximate and will vary by platform.

Week 7 Waiver Wire Consensus Priority Adds

1. Germie Bernard - WR, Steelers

💰 25-40% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 58% Sleeper / 44% ESPN / 50% Yahoo

If Bernard somehow survived waivers last week, this is probably your last chance. Bernard actually led Pittsburgh in routes, played 74 snaps, and commanded 12 targets, turning them into 11 catches, 87 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers has publicly praised his development, and the offense is using Bernard like a legitimate weapon rather than a temporary injury replacement.

Multiple waiver reports had him as the top waiver claim of the week, or at least in the very top tier, and I agree. His role has a much better chance of producing sustainable weekly value than any player available this week. If you desperately need a starting WR, I suggest getting aggressive.

2. Omar Cooper Jr. - WR, Jets

💰 15-20% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 13% Sleeper / 3% ESPN / 4% Yahoo

Cooper returned from IR and immediately played 51 of 62 offensive snaps, ran 28 routes compared with Garrett Wilson’s 33, and led the Jets with a 24% target share. He turned seven targets into six catches, 103 yards and a touchdown, and had another touchdown erased by penalty.

He’s also not some random Day 3 player. The Jets traded back into the first round for Cooper, and his ability after the catch was a major part of his profile coming out of Indiana. Adonai Mitchell will eventually return, and Garrett Wilson remains the alpha, so there will be volatility, but also keep in mind that Miami is next.

3. Kendre Miller - RB, Saints

💰 10-15% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 47% Sleeper / 44% ESPN / 50% Yahoo

Kendre was in my article last week. The biggest difference between last week and this week, however, is that he handled a huge workload out of the backfield. Against New York, Miller handled 22 opportunities, which resulted 20 carries for 70 yards with 2 receptions on top, despite Alvin Kamara being active. He was also tackled around the one-yard line twice, so this easily could have been a much bigger day.

Kamara has been playing limited snaps while dealing with back issues. Miller has seized the opportunity and increasingly taken over the early-down workload. This still isn’t necessarily an explosive offense, and Travis Etienne’s eventual return complicates the long-term picture, but usable RB volume is hard to find in October.

For managers missing James Cook, Bhayshul Tuten or another Week 7 RB, Miller can actually go into your lineup against Pittsburgh.

4. Jordyn Tyson - WR, Saints

💰 10-15% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 64% Sleeper / 33% ESPN / roughly 55-66% Yahoo

Tyson still hasn’t officially returned to game action, but he traveled with the Saints to Paris. That's an encouraging step in the right direction. If we're being honest, Tyson would be my No. 1 pickup if available because of the second-half upside.

It's unlikely Tyson plays in Week 7, though. Given the recurring hamstring history and New Orleans’ Week 8 bye, Week 9 remains a very logical target. But we aren’t stashing Tyson for one game. We’re stashing him because he could immediately become one of the Saints’ primary receiving weapons for the fantasy stretch run. If you have an IR slot, this is exactly what it’s for.

5. Jordan Mason - RB, Vikings

💰 15-25% FAAB if available
👥 Ownership: 67% Sleeper / 66% ESPN / roughly 66-71% Yahoo

This is more of a check-your-waiver-wire recommendation because Mason is already rostered in most competitive leagues. His return window has opened, and before suffering a thumb injury, he played 45% of Minnesota’s Week 1 snaps while handling 15 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown. Kevin O’Connell has also discussed Mason remaining an important part of the offense.

Aaron Jones has played extremely well, so Mason won't simply walk into a workhorse role, but the most realistic outcome is some type of 1A/1B split where Mason handles more early-down and short-yardage work. Startable RBs don’t often appear on waivers, so please do yourself a favor and go check.

6. DeMario Douglas - WR, Patriots

💰 8-12% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 7% Sleeper / 34% ESPN / 50% Yahoo

Douglas followed his 4/65/2 Week 5 performance with seven catches for 86 yards and another touchdown in Week 6. Now Romeo Doubs has officially been placed on IR, guaranteeing at least four missed games. A.J. Brown remains the No. 1 receiver and should continue commanding a huge target share, but Douglas suddenly has a much clearer runway to function as New England’s second receiving option. I don’t expect a touchdown every week, but the opportunity is considerably more stable now.

7. Ja'Kobi Lane - WR, Ravens

💰 6-10% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 26% Sleeper / fewer than 10% ESPN / 12% Yahoo

Lane returned from IR and immediately drew five targets, catching four for 40 yards while running a route on roughly 58% of Baltimore’s dropbacks. More importantly, he did it with Tyler Huntley. The appeal here is what happens when Lamar Jackson returns. Lane generated significant buzz throughout the summer and Baltimore was already targeting him around the end zone before his injury. Rashod Bateman is now dealing with a shoulder issue, and the next three opponents are Cincinnati, Buffalo and Jacksonville. The opportunity for significant production is there for Lane.

8. Jonah Coleman - RB, Broncos

💰 5-10% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 37% Sleeper / 21% ESPN / 28% Yahoo

Coleman is eligible to come off injured reserve and remains one of my favorite speculative RB stashes. The last time we saw him, Coleman produced 58 yards, three catches and a touchdown, and Denver could use him during the second half of the season. Neither J.K. Dobbins nor R.J. Harvey have run away with this backfield, and Denver badly needs another element offensively. This is more of a second-half-of-the-season type of stash.

9. Mike Washington Jr. - RB, Raiders

💰 5-10% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 35% Sleeper / 19% ESPN / 30% Yahoo

Ashton Jeanty said he was feeling healthier entering Week 6, yet he remained below 60% of the snaps for a second consecutive game. Washington, meanwhile, played a season-high 35% of the snaps and turned 10 touches into 50 yards. Las Vegas could eventually give Jeanty time to get fully healthy, so this could be one of those pickups that turns into straight gold, and that's not even considering Washington's standalone flex value in deeper formats.

10. Tyrone Tracy Jr. - RB, Giants

💰 4-8% FAAB
👥 Ownership: 10% Sleeper / 44% ESPN / 50% Yahoo

Cam Skattebo was essentially erased from the offense Sunday. Najee Harris started, but only managed four carries for two yards. Devin Singletary played the most snaps, while Tracy produced the biggest fantasy day with 45 yards and two touchdowns on a 38% snap share. Tracy also has consecutive 1,000-yard scrimmage seasons on his resume, proving he can produce at this level. The problem here is that we have four running backs involved, so this is more of a bet that the Giants eventually shrink the rotation and Tracy becomes the guy.

Premium Stashes / Deeper Leagues

Rachaad White - 5-10% FAAB: 👥 Ownership: 62% Sleeper / 45% ESPN / 61% Yahoo: JCM going to IR materially changes this backfield. Washington is on bye in Week 7, so you won't be putting White into lineups immediately. However, White received seven carries for 27 yards (3.9 YPC), both team highs. He also caught four balls for 29 yards and a touchdown in a game the Commanders were forced to throw early and often. He is clearly the back to have in JCM's absence.

Dylan Sampson - 4-8%: Quinshon Judkins remains banged up, Raheim Sanders is on IR, and Sampson is getting closer to returning. He already showed pass-catching ability as a rookie and could walk into a fantasy-friendly role immediately.

Jaylen Noel - 3-6%: The target share remains modest, but the production has been hard to ignore: 11.9, 15.2 and 20.7 fantasy points over his last three games. Houston’s receiving room is crowded with Nico Collins, Marvin Harrison Jr. and now Tank Dell returning, but Noel keeps making plays.

Tre Tucker - 3-6%: This is exactly what Tucker is, quiet weeks mixed with legitimate week-winning explosions, putting up a 5/97/2 statline Sunday. With his two biggest performances having come in favorable matchups, keep in mind that his production will be volatile. If you need a ceiling play during bye weeks, he’s a prime candidate for that role.

Samaje Perine - 3-6%: In Cincinnati’s last game, he essentially split opportunities with Chase Brown and was the more efficient runner. I expect Brown to remain the lead back, but Perine now has both standalone involvement and significant contingent upside.

Bam Knight - 2-5%: Knight outproduced Tyler Allgeier with 15 carries for 80 yards Sunday. Jeremiyah Love’s ankle remains difficult to predict, making Knight worth holding until we know exactly when Love returns.

Michael Mayer - 2-5%: Seven catches, nine targets and 95 yards in Week 6. Brock Bowers is essentially functioning like a receiver, allowing Mayer to remain heavily involved in two-TE personnel. The weekly floor will be inconsistent, but there are worse TE streamers.

T.J. Hockenson - 2-5% if available: Coming off the bye and concussion, Hockenson gets Indianapolis in Week 7 and Detroit afterward. His 13-target, 119-yard Week 4 performance reminded us the upside still exists with Kyler at QB.

Antonio Williams - 2-5%: Terry McLaurin suffered a concerning non-contact left-knee injury Monday night and was quickly ruled out after being carted from the field. Washington is on bye in Week 7, so Williams isn’t an immediate lineup solution, but if McLaurin is facing an extended absence, Williams could suddenly have a much clearer path to routes and targets.

Brandin Cooks - 2-5% FAAB: Mike Evans left Monday night with an Achilles injury and was ruled out, while Deebo Samuel is already expected to miss time until at least Week 9. If the Evans injury is more serious, Cooks could suddenly be asked to play a much larger role. He’s not someone I’m expecting to become a target hog, but opportunity is opportunity, and San Francisco may simply be running out of healthy receivers.

Christian Kirk - 2-5% FAAB: This one might ultimately be even more interesting. Kirk reportedly came close to being activated from IR for Monday night's game, which suggests his return could be near. There is a legitimate path for Kirk to walk directly into meaningful routes once activated. I’d much rather stash him now than wait until the 49ers announce he’s playing.

Emmett Johnson - 1-3%: Still one of my favorite pure handcuffs. Kenneth Walker managers should prioritize him, but honestly every contender should be looking for RB lottery tickets at this point in the season.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith - 1-3%: After Ladd McConkey left with a concussion, Lambert-Smith ran a route on 94% of the Chargers’ remaining dropbacks, drawing nine targets. The Chargers are on bye in Week 7, so this is purely a stash, but if McConkey and Tre Harris remain sidelined coming out of the bye, Lambert-Smith could walk into a near-full-time role.

Rams pass catchers after Davante Adams' injury

Adams 6-to-10 week absence opens a huge amount of receiving opportunity behind Puka Nacua.

Terrance Ferguson - IR / 3-6%: Ferguson is eligible to return from IR in Week 8, and Davante's absence creates a huge opportunity for someone to step up in the passing game. Once he’s back, Ferguson could effectively function as the Rams’ No. 2 receiving option behind Puka Nacua, especially given how heavily Los Angeles has used its tight ends. If you have an IR spot, he’s one of my favorite deeper stashes of the week.

Tyler Higbee - 2-5%: My preferred immediate fantasy bet if you need a tight end. The Rams have used multiple tight ends heavily, and Stafford now has to replace a receiver who had already accumulated 480 yards and four touchdowns.

Jordan Whittington - 1-2%: The most interesting WR stash.

Konata Mumpfield - 1-2%: Deep leagues only. He has already been playing meaningful snaps and could inherit more perimeter work.

Players I Would Not Chase

Jawhar Jordan - Six carries, 43 yards and a touchdown looks interesting, but Woody Marks still handled the larger workload, and David Montgomery will eventually return.

Pierre Strong Jr. - Useful receiving work Sunday, but Josh Jacobs is returning as Green Bay’s starter.

Najee Harris / Devin Singletary - Somebody may eventually win the Giants backfield, but my money is not on these two.

Ryan Flournoy - Dallas throws enough that there will be occasional usable weeks, but CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens should dominate targets.

Jaleel McLaughlin if Dylan Sampson is activated for a full workload - McLaughlin’s Week 7 matchup against Tennessee is appealing, but his role could disappear quickly.

QB Waiver Wire

Managers will be without Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert and Jayden Daniels in Week 7. Here are some potential bye week fill-ins:

1QB - Best Week 7 Streamers

1. C.J. Stroud - 8-12% FAAB if available

Stroud is my favorite option by a pretty wide margin. He has thrown at least 31 passes in three straight games, has topped 300 yards in two of his last three outings, and just posted 312 yards and three touchdowns against Jacksonville. Houston has also added Marvin Harrison Jr. to a receiving room that features Nico Collins and Jaylen Noel. Best of all, he faces the Giants at home in Week 7

2. Aaron Rodgers - 3-6%

Rodgers has thrown at least 31 passes in every game and now gets to throw to an ascending Germie Bernard in addition to DK Metcalf, Jaylen Warren and Pat Freiermuth. Pittsburgh gets New Orleans in Paris.

3. Geno Smith - 2-4%

Not a massive ceiling play, but Miami makes for a juicy matchup. Geno now has Omar Cooper back, Garrett Wilson remains the alpha, and Miami comes out of its bye at 0-5.

4. Kirk Cousins - 2-4%

Cousins has two 300-yard games in three starts and already has 14 passing touchdowns this season. The Raiders host a Rams team that is dealing with injuries everywhere, including the loss of Davante Adams on offense. Cousins isn’t sexy, but the passing volume keeps him viable.

5. Kyler Murray - 2-5% if available

This is another shallow-league check. Murray rushed for a season-high 51 yards before Minnesota’s bye, and that rushing floor is enormous.

Also monitor Baker Mayfield. If he’s cleared to return, Carolina is a playable matchup and he immediately belongs in this conversation.

Superflex / 2QB Priority Adds

J.J. McCarthy - 15-20% FAAB

This one depends on New York actually naming him the starter but either way, the takeover seems inevitable. McCarthy threw for 243 yards and a touchdown in one quarter, added 26 rushing yards and was willing to attack the defense vertically. Stash him now, even if he isn't announced as the starter yet.

Tanner McKee - 15-20%

Jalen Hurts is now expected to miss multiple months and likely the remainder of the season. That transforms McKee from a short-term injury replacement into a potentially season-long Superflex starter. Dallas is next on Monday night.

Tyler Huntley - 5-10%

If Lamar misses another game, Huntley gets Cincinnati and remains startable in Superflex because of the rushing component. If Lamar returns, Huntley immediately goes back to the bench.

Cole Payton - 1-3% FAAB / Deep Superflex Stash

This is purely speculative, but in deeper Superflex and 2QB leagues, Payton is worth putting on the radar. With Jalen Hurts likely out for the remainder of the season, Tanner McKee gets the first opportunity. If McKee struggles, Philadelphia could eventually decide to see what they have in Cole Payton, who was an intriguing developmental prospect coming out of college.

There are several players this week who could matter well beyond Week 7. Germie Bernard looks like a pro. Omar Cooper may be more than just a flash in a pan. Jordyn Tyson, Jonah Coleman, J.J. McCarthy and Jordan Mason give us opportunities to buy in before they breakout. Also, players like Ja'Kobi Lane and Mike Washington are the type of upside bets I want sitting at the bottom of my roster over low-ceiling veterans.

Follow the opportunity first. The fantasy points usually follow.

Dynasty Angle

Welcome to Angle Ranks. My name is MK. I live on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm married, and I have a 6-year-old who keeps me very busy. My love of sports actually started with soccer- played all throughout high school. That was the first sport I really fell in love with. Then when I moved to the States at the age of 16, I watched football for the first time in Spokane, Washington. The Seahawks became my team pretty quickly, and I never really looked back. I started playing fantasy football in 2008, and over time that turned into playing keeper leagues and then becoming a total dynasty nerd. I love the team-building side, the long-term strategy, rookie evaluation, trade markets, player value, really all of it. That's what pulled me into creating content. One fun fact- My son and I share the same birthday and I'm trying my hardest to make him a Seahawks fan too! I built this site because I've always hated trying to make fantasy rankings on generic tier-builder sites. They're clunky, the player pools are outdated, the images aren't fantasy-specific, and I've watched all my favorite content creators constantly fighting the tool instead of just making clean rankings. I wanted something built specifically for our fantasy football space. I hope you find it useful- it's built to help you get organized, but also to get creative. I'm always open to feedback, so if something feels clunky or you've got an idea to make it better, let me know. This site is for you as much as it's for me.
