The 1st-round, ballyhooed former Trojan wide receiver has started the season on fantasy benches, giving managers no reason to promote him. The number 20 overall pick in the 2026 Draft, and a top-6 pick in most rookie drafts, Makai Lemon hasn’t offered much hope for the future. He is struggling to adapt and is currently fighting for playing time in the Eagles' pass-game hierarchy.
However, Lemon’s game tape out of USC tells a different story. An elite slot weapon, he was dangerous on the move and after the catch, creating separation and winning contested catch situations.
While he still has his signature very good acceleration and suddenness, his slow adaptation to the pro game has made him one of the least productive perimeter players in the 2026 rookie class. Hindered by average play strength, average press-release packages, and a route tree limited by play calls, he is currently a non-threat. The silver lining is that it is not all on the player. The playcalling is unimaginative and doesn't use his strengths. The offensive coordinator is just as much at fault as the player.
In his final collegiate season at USC, Lemon posted an elite 3.13 YPRR, ranking in the 98th percentile among all college wide receivers. In the NFL, however, that number has dropped to a paltry 0.68 YPRR. While he has a 70.4% snap share (Sleeper), the playing time is hollow and equates to cardio. Lemon is getting a minuscule 11.4% target share, a bottom-tier 15.5% TPRR, and a meager ADOT of 5.1 yards. The aforementioned playcaller has limited his role to horizontal gadget roles, manufactured touches, and quick screens. His metrics suggest the coaching staff trusts him, but he is an afterthought in the progression.
Makai Lemon is a mandatory bench-rider for now, the exception being bye weeks or injury to better players. He is a tertiary option in the Eagles' passing attack and, as a result, has a very low fantasy points floor. Hold for now; you won’t get equivalent value this season, especially since the player is still young; the expected upside may still come to fruition.
A child of the Dixieland, Cam Coleman was born in Phenix City, Alabama, and destined to play football in the SEC. Raised in a sports-driven family of six children, he was coached and molded by his father, Bobby Coleman, a former collegiate safety at Alabama State University. Cam developed an elite work ethic early on.
The defining inspirational moment came in the form of a free youth football camp hosted by local legend and NFL running back Isaiah Crowell. The experience of seeing a local kid make it to the highest level deeply inspired him.
Cam went on to attend Central High School, growing into a 6-foot-3, two-sport athlete who also starred on the hardwood. Basketball assisted in his development and sharpened the skill set that he wins with on the football field. Scouts and coaches point to his high-point ability, explosive vertical leap, and uncanny spatial awareness in the red zone as a direct product of time spent rebounding and boxing out.
Gaining national attention for his size and explosive speed, he cemented his local legacy by recording 61 receptions for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, ultimately leading Central High to an Alabama 7A State Championship and earning State Championship MVP honors.
His transition to college was defined by a highly publicized recruitment battle during the latter half of 2023. Coleman originally committed to Texas A&M in July, but the program slipped into chaos as they showed heavily criticized head coach Jimbo Fisher the door.
As Game of Thrones villain Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish said, “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder.” Auburn's head coach seized the chaos and opportunity, launching an aggressive push to keep the five-star prospect in his home state. Freeze successfully flipped Coleman’s commitment to the Auburn Tigers in December 2023, securing one of the most coveted recruits in the nation.
Coleman enrolled early at Auburn in January 2024 and immediately injected life into the Tigers’ passing offense. During his freshman season, he showcased his elite talent, appearing in 11 games and hauling in 37 receptions for 598 yards and 8 touchdowns, earning him a well-deserved spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. He followed up the successful debut with an even more productive sophomore campaign, recording 56 receptions for 708 yards and 5 touchdowns across 12 games, highlighted by a career-high 10-catch, 143-yard performance against Vanderbilt.
Off the field, he remained grounded and inspired by his youth football camp experience; in the summer of 2025, he returned to Phenix City to launch his first free youth football camp to inspire the next generation of athletes.
Despite his individual success in the Plains, program instability triggered by a mid-season coaching change motivated Coleman to look outside the program for a new home. Coleman had three requirements for his next team: an elite quarterback, a pro-style system and route tree, and a strong preference to remain in the SEC.
Enter the Texas Longhorns. When Coleman arrived at Texas for his 2026 junior season, he integrated seamlessly into Steve Sarkisian’s sophisticated offense. The primary motivator behind the trek to Austin was the opportunity to catch passes from the talented quarterback and first-round NFL Draft prospect, Arch Manning. The dynamic immediately paid dividends on the field, with fans and scouts taking notice of Coleman’s spectacular one-handed practice catches. Sarkisian publicly praised Coleman’s physical attributes, comparing his raw skill set to NFL legend Julio Jones.

NFL Draft Projection: First round - Top 20
Coleman should be a first-round pick in all dynasty formats.
