Welcome to the October 19 edition of NFL BUZZ! We've got major developments surrounding Jalen Hurts, Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, Tank Dell, and several other players whose situations could significantly impact fantasy football moving forward.
Let's get into it!
- Jeremiyah Love: Scheduled to resume running Tuesday as he continues recovering from his ankle injury. This is an encouraging step, but he has not been cleared to practice or return to game action. (RotoWire; SleeperNFL)
- Andy Dalton: Atlanta is signing Dalton and releasing Cooper Rush. Michael Penix Jr. returned to Sunday's game after a brief medical evaluation. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; UnderdogNFL)
- Lamar Jackson: Remains day-to-day with his ankle injury and could return to practice this week. His Week 7 availability has not been determined. (RotoWire; Rotoworld)
- Rashod Bateman: Aggravated the shoulder injury he's been managing since Week 5 and did not return Sunday. Head coach Jesse Minter expressed optimism that Bateman will be okay, but his availability remains uncertain. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL)
- Dalton Kincaid: Returned to Sunday's game after suffering a rib injury. No additional diagnosis or new availability ruling has been reported. (RotoWire)
- Chuba Hubbard: Continues operating as Carolina's clear lead back, handling 97% of backfield opportunities in Week 6. Jonathon Brooks' eventual return could affect that workload.
- Luther Burden III: An intriguing development in Chicago's receiving corps. Burden drew targets on 44% of his routes in Week 6, but ran routes on only 44% of team dropbacks. The efficiency is encouraging, although his limited playing time continues to cap his fantasy ceiling.
- Jaleel McLaughlin / Audric Estime: With Quinshon Judkins inactive, McLaughlin led Cleveland's backfield opportunities while Estime handled the goal-line carries. Their roles remain worth monitoring if Judkins misses additional time.
- KaVontae Turpin: Was ruled out of Sunday's game with a rib injury. No updated timetable has been announced. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL)
- Jake Ferguson: A concerning role development. Brevyn Spann-Ford was announced as Dallas' starting tight end, although Ferguson still ran more receiving routes. Ferguson participated in routes on just 52% of dropbacks.
- Bo Nix: Sean Payton reiterated that he has not considered replacing Nix as Denver's starting quarterback despite recent criticism. (Rotoworld; UnderdogNFL)
- Josh Jacobs: Officially reinstated from the Commissioner Exempt List! Matt LaFleur expects Jacobs to participate in a full week of practice, but his Week 7 availability remains UNDECIDED. Reinstatement does not guarantee he'll play this weekend. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL; SleeperNFL)
- Tucker Kraft / MarShawn Lloyd: Both returned to Sunday's game after undergoing medical evaluations. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL)
- Tank Dell: HE'S BACK! DeMeco Ryans announced that Dell will play against the Giants in Week 7, marking his first appearance since December 2024. His initial workload remains uncertain, but his return adds another weapon to Houston's increasingly crowded receiving corps. (DeMeco Ryans; Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; RotoWire)
- Chris Ballard: Indianapolis has fired its general manager. Assistant GM Ed Dodds will oversee personnel operations for the remainder of the season. Peyton Manning has been mentioned as a potential candidate in reporting. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; Rotoworld)
- Daniel Jones: Shane Steichen confirmed Jones will remain Indianapolis' starting quarterback in Week 7. (UnderdogNFL)
- Alec Pierce: Will not practice this week as he continues recovering from his heel injury. (UnderdogNFL)
- Brian Thomas Jr.: Liam Coen confirmed Thomas was benched after two drops against Houston. Thomas did not play a single second-half snap. This was a performance-related decision rather than an injury, making his role one of the more concerning situations to monitor entering Week 7. (Rotoworld)
- Travis Hunter: Despite an impressive performance against Houston, Hunter ran routes on just 16% of Jacksonville's dropbacks. His production is encouraging, but fantasy managers need to see a meaningful increase in playing time before trusting him consistently.
- Rashee Rice / Tyquan Thornton: Rice remained sidelined in Week 6, while Thornton is on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Jalen Royals and Andrew Armstrong saw additional receiving opportunities, although neither has established a reliable fantasy role.
- Ladd McConkey: Remains in concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's game against Kansas City. His Week 7 availability is uncertain. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL)
- Coaching Situation: Jim Harbaugh says the Chargers are evaluating all options following their 0–6 start, including Mike McDaniel's play-calling responsibilities. (Ian Rapoport; Rotoworld)
- KeAndre Lambert-Smith: A potential waiver name to monitor. Following McConkey's departure, Lambert-Smith ran routes on 94% of the Chargers' remaining dropbacks and received nine targets. His opportunity could continue if McConkey and Tre Harris remain unavailable.
- Davante Adams: MAJOR NEWS! Adams suffered a ruptured hamstring tendon and is expected to miss approximately 6–10 weeks. A procedure is anticipated, and Adams is headed to injured reserve. His absence creates additional opportunities for Puka Nacua and the Rams' tight ends. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; RotoWire; Jeff Mueller)
- Blake Grupe: The kicker suffered a torn ACL and has been placed on injured reserve. The Rams are scheduled to work out Brandon McManus and Matt Prater on Tuesday. Neither has been signed. (Adam Schefter; UnderdogNFL)
- Ashton Jeanty: A concerning backfield development. Jeanty handled 57% of opportunities in Week 6, while Mike Washington Jr. accounted for 36% and received goal-line work. Jeanty remains the lead back, but the substantial split deserves attention.
- Caleb Douglas: Returning to practice Monday on a limited basis as he recovers from his ankle injury. (RotoWire; UnderdogNFL)
- Jordan Mason: Minnesota has opened Mason's 21-day practice window following his thumb injury. He remains on injured reserve until officially activated, but his return could have significant fantasy implications for the Vikings' backfield. (RotoWire; Ian Rapoport; SleeperNFL)
- Romeo Doubs: Placed on injured reserve following his shoulder injury and will miss at least four games. There's optimism he could return following New England's Week 11 bye. (Jeremy Fowler; Adam Schefter; RotoWire)
- Kyle Williams: An intriguing name to monitor with Doubs sidelined. Williams took over outside receiving responsibilities after the injury, although he has yet to establish consistent target volume. Demario Douglas also remains involved. (SleeperNFL)
- Jordyn Tyson: Traveled with New Orleans to Paris as he works toward returning from his hamstring injury. His participation in the trip is encouraging, but he has not been cleared to play in Week 7. (RotoWire; Ian Rapoport)
- Alvin Kamara: Returned to Sunday's game after a brief injury concern. (RotoWire)
- Jameis Winston / J.J. McCarthy: The Giants have NOT named their Week 7 starting quarterback. John Harbaugh says the team is working toward a decision, while reporting suggests McCarthy could receive an opportunity following his impressive performance against New Orleans. (Ian Rapoport; Rotoworld)
- Darnell Mooney: Exited Sunday's game with a neck injury and did not receive a subsequent clearance in the reporting window. (UnderdogNFL)
- Cam Skattebo / Tyrone Tracy: Following Skattebo's surprising zero-touch performance, Tracy emerged as the Giants' leading backfield option, handling 50% of opportunities and all inside-the-10 carries. Tracy is worth monitoring on waivers, although no permanent starter has been named.
- Braelon Allen: Continues making the most of Breece Hall's absence. Over the past two games, Allen has recorded 194 rushing yards on 41 carries, including nine runs of at least 10 yards and 12 forced missed tackles. (UnderdogNFL; SumerSports)
- Jalen Hurts: DEVASTATING NEWS. Additional imaging revealed multiple blood clots in Hurts' lungs, and Adam Schefter reports he's expected to miss the remainder of the season. Ian Rapoport indicates treatment could last approximately three months. The reported prognosis for his recovery is favorable, but his return to football remains uncertain. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; RotoWire)
- Tanner McKee: Expected to continue leading Philadelphia's offense in Hurts' absence. McKee becomes an important option in superflex and two-quarterback leagues, although the quarterback change creates uncertainty for Philadelphia's receiving corps.
- Dameon Pierce: With Saquon Barkley sidelined and Carson Steele exiting with a shoulder injury, Pierce handled 94% of Philadelphia's backfield opportunities. Jaydon Blue received no touches. Pierce could remain fantasy-relevant if the Eagles' other running backs remain unavailable.
- Jaylen Warren / Rico Dowdle: Mike McCarthy says Pittsburgh wants both backs involved, but Week 6 usage favored Warren, who handled 64% of opportunities and 93% of third-down snaps. Dowdle remains involved, although Warren appears to have the stronger passing-game role. (UnderdogNFL)
- Zach Charbonnet: Mike Macdonald expects Charbonnet to participate fully in practice this week and believes there's a good chance he makes his season debut in Week 7. His return could significantly affect Seattle's backfield rotation. (RotoWire; SleeperNFL)
- Elijah Arroyo: Expected to miss time with a shoulder injury. (Jeremy Fowler)
- Mike Evans: Officially ACTIVE for Monday Night Football against Washington despite rib and Achilles concerns. Evans did not practice during the week but was cleared to play. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; RotoWire)
- Christian Kirk: Will not be activated from injured reserve for Monday's game as he continues recovering from his calf injury. (RotoWire)
- Baker Mayfield: Expected to return to practice Wednesday, when Tampa Bay will evaluate his injured thumb. Jalon Daniels is currently being prepared as the potential Week 7 starter, but Mayfield has not officially been ruled out. (Ian Rapoport; RotoWire)
- Carnell Tate: Continues emerging as an important receiving weapon. Tate accounted for 70 of Cam Ward's 102 passing yards in Week 6 and ran routes on 96% of dropbacks. His expanding role is encouraging, although Tennessee's limited passing volume remains a concern.

Dynasty Angle
Welcome to Angle Ranks. My name is MK. I live on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm married, and I have a 6-year-old who keeps me very busy. My love of sports actually started with soccer- played all throughout high school. That was the first sport I really fell in love with. Then when I moved to the States at the age of 16, I watched football for the first time in Spokane, Washington. The Seahawks became my team pretty quickly, and I never really looked back. I started playing fantasy football in 2008, and over time that turned into playing keeper leagues and then becoming a total dynasty nerd. I love the team-building side, the long-term strategy, rookie evaluation, trade markets, player value, really all of it. That's what pulled me into creating content. One fun fact- My son and I share the same birthday and I'm trying my hardest to make him a Seahawks fan too! I built this site because I've always hated trying to make fantasy rankings on generic tier-builder sites. They're clunky, the player pools are outdated, the images aren't fantasy-specific, and I've watched all my favorite content creators constantly fighting the tool instead of just making clean rankings. I wanted something built specifically for our fantasy football space. I hope you find it useful- it's built to help you get organized, but also to get creative. I'm always open to feedback, so if something feels clunky or you've got an idea to make it better, let me know. This site is for you as much as it's for me.
