Welcome to the October 17 edition of NFL BUZZ, covering the latest injury updates, roster moves, coaching decisions, and fantasy-relevant developments heading into Week 6. Today's report features major developments surrounding Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, Caleb Williams and Josh Jacobs, along with potential breakout opportunities and important lineup decisions.
- Jeremiyah Love: Remains officially OUT for Week 6 with his ankle injury. No updated timetable has been provided for his return. Tyler Allgeier remains positioned for additional backfield opportunities. (RotoWire)
- Lamar Jackson: Remains OUT with his ankle injury. Zay Flowers has been removed from the injury report, while Ja'Kobi Lane was activated from injured reserve Saturday and is expected to play despite retaining a questionable designation. (Baltimore Ravens; Adam Schefter; Jeremy Fowler; RotoWire)
- Derrick Henry: Could benefit from Cleveland's defensive-line injuries. Defensive tackle Mason Graham is questionable, prompting the Browns to elevate two defensive tackles. Graham's potential absence would improve Henry's matchup, although his availability remains uncertain. (Adam Schefter)
- DJ Moore: Remains QUESTIONABLE after returning to practice Friday following his shoulder injury. No additional clearance was reported Saturday. (RotoWire)
- Caleb Williams: BIG NEWS! Chicago plans to start Williams against Atlanta after he missed three games with a hamstring injury. Williams completed a full week of practice without setbacks and handled starting quarterback repetitions. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; Underdog)
- Kyle Monangai: Remains OUT with thumb and toe injuries but is expected to avoid injured reserve. (RotoWire)
- Quinshon Judkins: Remains QUESTIONABLE with his foot/ankle injury after returning to practice Friday. Dylan Sampson will not be activated from injured reserve this week, potentially creating additional backfield uncertainty if Judkins cannot play. (RotoWire)
- KC Concepcion / Boston: Concepcion has cleared concussion protocol, while Boston has been removed from the injury report after dealing with a foot issue. (RotoWire)
- Josh Jacobs: Expected to come off the Commissioner Exempt List Monday and immediately reclaim Green Bay's starting running back job in Week 7 against Detroit. The NFL investigation remains open, and additional discipline is possible if new evidence emerges. (Tom Pelissero; Jeremy Fowler; Rotoworld)
- Savion Williams / Skyy Moore: Green Bay activated Williams from injured reserve following his ankle injury. Moore was placed on IR, creating a change in the Packers' receiving depth. (Adam Schefter; Underdog)
- Marvin Harrison Jr.: DeMeco Ryans says Harrison has renewed confidence heading into his Texans debut. Houston plans to give him a handful of plays this week, suggesting an introductory package rather than an immediate full workload. Fantasy managers should temper expectations for his first appearance. (DeMeco Ryans; SleeperNFL)
- Tyler Warren: Remains QUESTIONABLE after suffering a groin injury during Friday's practice. Indianapolis activated Will Mallory from injured reserve Saturday, providing additional tight end depth if Warren cannot play. (Adam Schefter; RotoWire)
- Alec Pierce: Making progress with his heel injury but reportedly remains several weeks away from returning to game action. He's not expected to practice immediately upon becoming eligible next week. (Tom Pelissero; Underdog)
- Josh Cameron: An intriguing name for dynasty managers to monitor. Cameron has drawn four red-zone targets this season, tied for second on Jacksonville behind Parker Washington's six. Coaches continue praising his development, although a larger offensive role hasn't been confirmed. He's worth considering as a speculative stash in deeper dynasty formats. (Ahaan Rungta; RotoUnderworld; Jeff Mueller; SleeperNFL)
- Rashee Rice: Remains officially OUT against the Chargers with his hamstring injury, creating potential opportunities for Kansas City's other receivers. (RotoWire)
- Tyreek Hill: A reunion with Kansas City doesn't appear imminent. The Chiefs reportedly aren't rushing to sign Hill and continue exploring the wide receiver trade market. (Jonathan Jones; SleeperNFL)
- Ashton Jeanty: His receiving involvement continues to provide fantasy value despite a lack of explosive rushing plays. Jeanty's passing-game contributions remain an important part of his weekly fantasy outlook. (Kyle Dvorchak; Rotoworld)
- KeAndre Lambert-Smith: Activated from injured reserve Saturday, while Los Angeles released Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The move provides additional receiver depth heading into Sunday's matchup with Kansas City. (Adam Schefter)
- Ladd McConkey / Quentin Johnston: McConkey carries no injury designation, while Johnston is expected to return in Week 6. Neither has been guaranteed a specific snap count. (RotoWire)
- Trade Rumors: General manager Joe Hortiz reportedly has little interest in entertaining trade approaches involving his players. Kimani Vidal, Quentin Johnston and others could attract interest. (Tom Pelissero; Underdog)
- A.J. Brown: MAJOR DEVELOPMENT! New England activated Brown from injured reserve Saturday, and he's expected to play against the Jets. Brown practiced on a limited basis throughout the week while recovering from his high-ankle sprain. He's an intriguing fantasy option, although his first-game-back workload remains uncertain. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; RotoWire; Jeff Mueller)
- TreVeyon Henderson: Remains QUESTIONABLE with his high-ankle injury. New England did not elevate a practice-squad running back ahead of Sunday's game, although that doesn't guarantee Henderson will play or handle his normal workload. (RotoWire; Underdog)
- Patriots Receiving Corps: Beyond A.J. Brown, the secondary receiver rotation remains difficult to project. Romeo Doubs and Chism continue competing for opportunities.
- Chris Olave / Alvin Kamara: Both remain officially QUESTIONABLE heading into Sunday's matchup against the Giants. Olave returned to practice Friday after dealing with an illness, while Kamara continues managing a back injury. (RotoWire)
- Omar Cooper: Activated from injured reserve Saturday after recovering from his ankle injury. Cooper is expected to be available against New England, although he retains a questionable designation. (New York Jets; Connor Hughes; RotoWire)
- Breece Hall: Remains OUT with his quad injury, leaving the Jets without their starting running back again in Week 6. (RotoWire)
- Jalen Hurts: BREAKING DEVELOPMENT! Philadelphia officially placed Hurts on injured reserve following additional medical consultations regarding his calf blood clot. He'll miss at least four games, with no confirmed return timetable. (Adam Schefter; Ian Rapoport; Jeremy Fowler)
- Tanner McKee: Will start Sunday and is expected to remain Philadelphia's quarterback while Hurts is sidelined. McKee becomes an intriguing waiver target, particularly in superflex and two-quarterback leagues where starting quarterbacks are difficult to find. (Ian Rapoport; Rotoworld; Jeff Mueller)
- Hurts' Recovery: Medical analysts have discussed the possibility of a prolonged absence depending on treatment decisions. However, no specific treatment duration or season-ending determination has been confirmed. (Jeff Mueller)
- Jaydon Blue: Signed to Philadelphia's active roster with Saquon Barkley OUT and Will Shipley placed on injured reserve. Blue could earn opportunities in the depleted backfield. (Adam Schefter; RotoWire)
- DeVonta Smith / Dontayvion Wicks: Both have cleared the final injury report and are expected to be available Sunday. Their presence provides much-needed receiving options for McKee. (RotoWire)
- Makai Lemon: A speculative name to monitor. Medical analyst Jeff Mueller expects Lemon to see additional targets this weekend. (Jeff Mueller)
- Pat Freiermuth: A concerning late addition to the injury report. Freiermuth is QUESTIONABLE with a calf injury, creating uncertainty at tight end. Darnell Washington could see additional opportunities if Freiermuth cannot play. (Pittsburgh Steelers PR; Adam Schefter; Jeff Mueller)
- DK Metcalf: Removed from the injury report after dealing with an illness and is expected to play against Tampa Bay. (Adam Schefter; RotoWire)
- Roman Wilson: Placed on injured reserve with a hand/finger injury and will miss at least four games. His absence could create additional opportunities for Pittsburgh's remaining pass catchers. (Adam Schefter; Underdog)
- Rico Dowdle: Remains QUESTIONABLE despite practicing fully Friday. His availability will be worth monitoring ahead of kickoff. (RotoWire)
- Mike Evans: Officially QUESTIONABLE for Monday Night Football with rib and Achilles concerns. Evans continued doing side work Saturday, but his game availability remains uncertain. (Kyle Shanahan; Nick Wagoner; RotoWire)
- Christian Kirk: Also QUESTIONABLE after returning to limited practice following his calf injury. San Francisco could activate him from injured reserve before Monday, although neither activation nor a full workload has been confirmed. (RotoWire; Underdog)
- Christian McCaffrey: An interesting usage trend worth monitoring. McCaffrey has now gone five consecutive games without reaching 20 touches, his first such stretch within a season since his rookie year in 2017. He had only four games below 20 touches during the entire previous regular season. (Josh Dubow; SleeperNFL)
- Jadarian Price: Seattle remains optimistic about his return from injury, with indications that he could be back sooner rather than later. (RotoWire)
- Baker Mayfield: Encouraging news for fantasy managers. There's optimism that Mayfield could return in Week 7 after missing time with his thumb injury. (Tom Pelissero; Underdog)
- Tyjae Spears: Practiced fully Friday but remains officially QUESTIONABLE with his knee injury. His game-day availability still needs confirmation. (RotoWire)
- Organizational Update: Titans CEO Burke Nihill publicly apologized to fans while expressing continued confidence in head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi. (Adam Schefter; Rotoworld)
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt: Officially ruled OUT for Monday Night Football after aggravating his groin injury. Medical analyst Jeff Mueller estimates a possible two-to-three-week recovery, although Washington has not announced an official return timetable. (Dan Quinn; Adam Schefter; Jeff Mueller)
- Rachaad White: Cleared from the final injury report after dealing with a shoulder issue. White handled 92% of Washington's third-down running back snaps and ran routes on 42% of dropbacks in Week 5. With Croskey-Merritt sidelined, he could see an expanded role against San Francisco, which has allowed one of the league's highest RB target rates. (Washington Commanders; RotoWire)
- Austin Ekeler: Another potential beneficiary of Croskey-Merritt's absence, although his own recent injury situation makes his workload difficult to project.
- Terry McLaurin / Stefon Diggs: McLaurin has no injury designation for Monday after receiving veteran rest Friday. Diggs remains QUESTIONABLE with his hamstring injury after participating in Saturday's practice. (Washington Commanders; RotoWire; Underdog)

Dynasty Angle
Welcome to Angle Ranks. My name is MK. I live on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm married, and I have a 6-year-old who keeps me very busy. My love of sports actually started with soccer- played all throughout high school. That was the first sport I really fell in love with. Then when I moved to the States at the age of 16, I watched football for the first time in Spokane, Washington. The Seahawks became my team pretty quickly, and I never really looked back. I started playing fantasy football in 2008, and over time that turned into playing keeper leagues and then becoming a total dynasty nerd. I love the team-building side, the long-term strategy, rookie evaluation, trade markets, player value, really all of it. That's what pulled me into creating content. One fun fact- My son and I share the same birthday and I'm trying my hardest to make him a Seahawks fan too! I built this site because I've always hated trying to make fantasy rankings on generic tier-builder sites. They're clunky, the player pools are outdated, the images aren't fantasy-specific, and I've watched all my favorite content creators constantly fighting the tool instead of just making clean rankings. I wanted something built specifically for our fantasy football space. I hope you find it useful- it's built to help you get organized, but also to get creative. I'm always open to feedback, so if something feels clunky or you've got an idea to make it better, let me know. This site is for you as much as it's for me.
